Focusing on some of the most remote and hard to reach locations in Kenya, as well as the areas and communities most affected by HIV, the 2018 Africa Goal campaign will build on, and strengthen, partnerships established during the previous three campaigns. The route will take the team to Western Kenya, holding events in farming communities, truck stops and fishing villages around Lake Victoria (both on the mainland and on off-shore islands) which continue to have some of the highest HIV rates in East Africa. Continuing North, the team will reach remote townships and villages around Lake Turkana which are some of the most isolated and marginalised communities in the region, where access to the live FIFA matches as well as HIV services and information is most limited.
The 2018 route take the Africa Goal team through the areas with highest HIV prevalence and lowest access to HIV services and information in Kenya.
