Building on successful collaborative events during the previous Africa Goal campaigns, Africa Goal will this year be partnering with PS Kenya throughout the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament. PS Kenya addresses the most serious health challenges affecting resource – poor and vulnerable communities in Kenya, including HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, non-communicable diseases and the greatest threats to children under five including malaria, diarrhoea, pneumonia and malnutrition.
In line with Africa Goal’s focus and the target audience, activities will primarily centre around HIV and sexual reproductive health, with a special emphasis on HIV prevention.
Through the partnership, Africa Goal, in conjunction with PS Kenya, will screen live matches in communities across Kenya including around Lake Victoria and Turkana. During these games, we will also share valuable, life-saving messages about HIV testing services, condom use, family planning and voluntary medical male circumcision, empowering communities to make better decisions about their health and well-being.
